Asheville City Blues
Driven by the raw emotion of the blues, the groove of classic R&B, and the lyrical edge of Bob Dylan, the band creates a sound that moves between soulful intensity and laid-back storytelling. It’s music with roots—deep, expressive, and built for live energy.
David Madora

Born and raised in Philadelphia, David started playing drums at 13, rooted early in blues and jazz traditions. During college he toured with a road band, gaining valuable experience but realized the road life wasn’t his calling. For the past seven years he’s been part of the Asheville music scene, bringing solid groove, seasoned musicianship, and a deep feel for blues and jazz to every stage he plays.
Robert Hicks

Bobby Hicks fronts Asheville City Blues with a voice forged in church choirs, rock bands, festival stages, and decades of live performance. Rooted in blues, soul, and rock tradition, he delivers a dynamic, heartfelt presence shaped by years with bands and countless shows across the Southeast.
Sash

Sash started out in NYC playing guitar and singing for a popular jam band called the Lost Boys.
He later moved to coastal South Carolina and did full time playing in a local party band called Spare Parts. Up in the mountains taking a break for over a decade now... excited to jam in WNC with some good friends!
Bradford Smith

Bradford’s musical journey began in the Virginia Beach scene, where he performed on saxophone and keys through his 20s and 30s. His move to St. Louis sparked a new creative path with the Native American flute, leading to award-winning recordings and national recognition. Now, with his embouchure back and the sax in hand again, Bradford is reigniting the soulful, expressive sound that has always defined his musical voice.
Bob Blichmann

Bob Blichmann has been playing bass since the dark days of Middle School, growing up as a small-town garage-band kid far removed from marching bands or musical theater. His early years were spent laying down classic rock grooves in smoky bar rooms before evolving into the blues and Americana scenes around Charlotte, NC. Now based in Brevard, Bob splits his musical energy between the cool, intellectual world of jazz and the hot, emotional fire of blues, rock, and soul—bringing depth, taste, and decades of experience to Asheville City Blues.
